Midge Ure, a Scottish musician, announced with “great sadness and difficulty” that he must “reschedule all shows scheduled from September onward.” The singer claimed that doctors have discovered a health condition that requires “urgent treatment and a period of recovery.”
The health issue had been discovered during a recent routine check-up, according to James “Midge” Ure, 71, the frontman of the electronic pop group Ultravox, whose song Vienna is among the most well-known songs of the 1980s.
Dates for the rescheduled performances include those in Europe, the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
He added in a statement that “I have to reschedule all shows that are scheduled starting in September. ” A health condition that requires urgent care and recovery was recently discovered during a routine check-up.
I never take the support of many of you for granted because I know many of you travel far distances and frequently cross borders to see the shows. I’m so sorry if this interferes with your plans.
“I’m still fully committed to performing all of the shows that are currently scheduled for this month, and I’m eager to spend as much time with you as possible.”
He assured fans that “very much going forward” with his previously announced A Man of Two Worlds Tour, which will take place in May and June 2026.
The 2026 tour, which was announced last month, aims to combine album favorites with “cinematic instrumentals” to provide fans with a “rare and deeply personal concert experience.”
In a statement from Ure, it was stated, “I’m aiming to hit the road once more as soon as possible and looking forward to getting back out there and sharing this music with you all.”
