Tyler Perry, the director and actor who appeared on his long-running TV show, The Oval, has been accused of sexual assault by Perry. Perry has refuted the accusations, saying that he was not the victim.
Tyler Perry, an American actor and director, is facing sexual assault allegations, which he vehemently refutes. An actor who appeared on the filmmaker’s long-running TV program, The Oval, is making the alleged claim.
Derek Dixon allegedly sued Perry for allegedly asking him for a phone number for a upcoming acting role after the movie mogul “picked him out of a crowd” in 2019.
In two episodes of the television series Ruthless, Perry reportedly gave Dixon cameos.
Then, he alleges Perry allegedly climbed into his bed with him while he was staying over at Perry’s Atlanta residence in January 2020. Dixon claims that he at the time rejected Perry’s advances.
Dixon eventually secured the role of Dale in one of Perry’s projects, The Oval, but he claims in the documents that he started sending him sexually suggestive text messages.
He claims that because he was afraid he would lose his job, he didn’t file a sexual harassment complaint at the time. Before quitting The Oval, Dixon filed the lawsuit with the Equal Employment and Opportunity Commission in June 2024, according to TMZ.
Dixon is suing Perry and Tyler Perry Studios for sexual assault and battery at work. The actor wants damages in the amount of $ 260 million.
A Perry representative said in a statement that appeared to be nothing more than the setting up of a scam in a statement released on Tuesday night. However, Tyler won’t let go, and we are confident that these fabricated harassment claims won’t be true.
Perry, a well-known director and playwright, has appeared in Hollywood films like Gone Girl, Don’t Look Up, and Star Trek in addition to his own work.
