Two Reported Dead As Suspected Gunmen Attack Ebonyi Community

According to reports, two people have been killed in an alleged gunman’s attack in the Ezza-North Local Government of Ebonyi State’s Oriuzor community.

Joshua Ukandu, the Ebonyi State Police Command spokesman, gave the incident a confirmation on Monday to Channels Television.

The incident took place on Saturday night, November 1, 2025, according to Ukandu, a superintendent of police, adding that the police are searching for the suspected gunmen.

He claimed that Ifeanyi Ogele, a barber, was shot dead in his shop, while Keke rider, a commercial tricycle operator, was also shot dead nearby.

According to Ukandu, inquiries are still being conducted to ascertain the full nature of the events and identify the perpetrators.

No arrests have been made at this time, but our men are on their way, according to the Command spokesman.

In Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, on Monday, a bus driver was brutally attacked by alleged hoodlums.

A group of alleged hoodlums attacked the driver because they allegedly beat the traffic, according to an eyewitness.

The hoodlums followed the car’s driver and harassed him until he lost consciousness before vanishing after carrying out the brutal attack.

Four people were detained in connection with the brutal attack, according to a command spokesman, after the police officers on the ground intervened quickly to stop further deterioration of law and order.

He noted that the driver needed urgent medical attention in an unnamed hospital.

adding that the suspects are being held by police as the investigation rages on.
