Ofcom have confirmed their most complained-about moments of 2025, and ITV’s dating show, Love Island, has taken the top spot with five episodes in the top ten
Love Island’s bullying, breastfeeding and Sabrina Carpenter’s dance routines are some of TV’s most complained-about moments. Ofcom have released the most complained-about TV moments of the year, and Love Island has five episodes in the top ten – making it one of the most complained-about shows.
But it’s not just dating which saw complaints flooding in to the broadcasting watchdog. Some viewers were not best pleased with Sabrina Carpenter’s dance routines at this year’s BRIT Awards. While others also took aim at Charli xcx’s dress for the night.
Vanessa Feltz’s TV show was also criticised following a discussion about breastfeeding and its benefits. GB News was also slammed by viewers over a presenter’s comment, which linked the LGBTQ+ community to paedophiles.
In Ofcom’s report, a statement read: “Complaint numbers have fallen from 2024, and while we’ve had fewer investigations opened and closed, these levels are consistent with what we saw in 2021.
” There are some genres that continue to attract scrutiny, in particular reality TV, which makes up more than half of the 10 most complained about programmes. This year, around three in 10 complaints to Ofcom were about Love Island, with the 2025 series totalling 14, 121 complaints. “
