Television employees fear losing their jobs if Gino D’Acampo’s alleged inappropriate behavior is proven to be untrue.

A member of the ITV News team reported this month that dozens of former employees had claimed to have worked with Gordon, Gino, and Fred on Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip. More people have now complained about the Italian’s alleged “aggressive and abusive” actions, according to reporter Sejal Karia and senior producer Liz Little.

According to Ms. Karia, “We have had more people come to us with alleged behavior that they claim to have witnessed and experienced, so the investigation and corroboration are ongoing.” Ms Little added: “This is a very difficult story to tell. People who have already contacted us and are contacting us now are afraid. They’re scared of putting their salaries at risk”.

Former staff branded D’Acampo’s behaviour over a 12-year period as “unacceptable, distressing and horrendous”. ITV canceled Gino’s Italy: Secrets of the South and Family Fortunes, respectively. He “vehemently denies” the claims, branding them “deeply upsetting”.

In a statement, Mr D’campo said: “I have been told by ITN news that allegations have been made about me acting inappropriately, some dating back over ten years ago. These allegations are firmly refuted, and I have never been informed of them. I made no effort to upset or irritate anyone by doing anything. This is simply not in my nature. The version of events being presented to me is not what I can identify.

“I have been repeatedly supported by executives at the highest level, and I was commissioned on prime-time programs during the period when it is now believed I was acting inappropriately,” I claim.

“I am a father, husband and have worked with well over 1, 500 people on around 80 productions in my career, which I have been so proud of. The suggestion that I have acted improperly against is deeply upsetting because I take these matters very seriously.

He denies that he was told to go on a behavioral course and was spoken to by Ms. Karia and Ms. Little. One production company is also reviewing its work with him, they added. The pair expressed hope that the TV industry will be altered by their findings.

Ms. Karia referenced allegations of bad behavior against Gregg Wallace and Phillip Schofield on the What You Need to Know podcast, which they refute. She stated, “The TV industry is looking at itself and asking if it has done enough to protect junior staff members.”

D’Acampo was asked for comment.
