Despite helping England to defeat Andorra on Saturday, Thomas Tuchel claims he is “absolutely convinced” that the country is headed in the right direction under him.

A Villa Park goalcorer by Christian Garcia and Declan Rice’s header earned the team a 2-0 victory in their World Cup qualifying match.

Even though Tuchel did experience a 3-1 defeat at home to Senegal in a friendly, it now totals four victories from four competitive games.

England has won eight goals and conceded none in those four victories, but it’s conceivable that the result won’t be particularly impressive.

Former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss Tuchel said, “We’re getting there.”

“I’m learning a lot,” he said. Club football differs a lot from international football.

a better performance than the previous encounter with Andorra?

England had played Andorra twice since the start of June, last time with a convincing 1-0 victory.

After that victory, the German questioned the team’s attitude and criticized them.

Despite having a statistically inferior team in some crucial areas, he was much happier with this most recent display.

On Saturday, they had fewer shots (41-42) and touches in the opposition box (11 versus 20), as well as fewer big chances (44-6).

In this game, they did score twice, though one of those goals was an own goal, and Tuchel thinks that if the second strike had occurred sooner than the 67th minute, the result would have been much better.

“Tuchel told BBC Radio 5 Live, “I liked the performance.” A strong performance in the face of a low block was achieved.

The second goal arrived too late, with some of the required 100% of the time remaining. We had a lot of chances, but they weren’t actually converted.

We had to wait for the second goal for a while before finding some energy from the substitutes, and finally we found freedom in the second goal. Additionally, it sent the opposing player the message that the game was over.

Uninspired but not England’s, according to the article.

Matt Upson, a former England defender who covered the game for BBC Radio 5 Live, thought the performance was as good as could be expected given the setup of Andorra.

It’s about how we handle the situation, and the fact that we were playing against a team that doesn’t want to make this a football game,” he said.

“It will be uninspiring when you have that in front of you, but England won’t be doing that.” Simply put, these matches have a nature. They are essentially identical.

It ends up 5-0, as Tuchel said, but if we had scored again 10 minutes after the first one, the game would have been the same.

Upson acknowledged, however, that Tuchel hasn’t yet managed to control an impressive England performance.

“I believe that’s fair,” Upson continued. Senegal was the one game we believed could have been more interesting, in my opinion, but we made nine changes and the other half of the team was unable to be chosen. Tuchel’s control over that is somewhat out of his control.
