When England take on Canada in the World Cup final, full-back Ellie Kildunne asserts that they will “trust the process” they have been following for the past three years.

In Saturday’s 35-17 semi-final defeat to France, Kildunne scored two tries to start the defeat by New Zealand in the 2022 showpiece.

The Red Roses’ seventh consecutive World Cup final will be held at Twickenham on Saturday, with their only victory coming against Canada in 2014.

However, Kildunne, who was named the year’s top player, does not think England should dwell on their three-year absence from the Eden Park final.

The 26-year-old said, “We are a different team and we face a different opponent” in a different tournament.

You don’t prepare for a World Cup final in the last week; you do it over the past three years. We are at a loss for preparation.

A unique bond, truly.

This England team’s togetherness is a significant component, perhaps as a result of the players’ teenage years.

On their way to becoming regulars abroad, a number of the squad, including Kildunne and captain Zoe Aldcroft, were present at “Block 16,” which is a component of Hartpury University and College’s student housing.

The women’s rugby academy creates a squad bonded by their past, welcoming 16-year-olds from all over the nation and producing Red Roses.

“The environment is incredible,” Kildunne remarked. There is a bond between the team and the other team that I have ever been a part of. We support one another.

“This England team is the one I would rather take the pitch with.”

We just need to back ourselves, trust the procedure we’ve followed, and know that whatever happens after that happens will happen.

England escaped a scare in the semi-final with a try from Kildunne in each half.

The full-back sliced her way past the French defense on both occasions and flew over.

Her justification avoiding conflict at all costs.

Being a good team member is a secret. I dislike being tackled, too. She said, “I run away from people because.”
