Trump says UFC fight at White House to be staged on his 80th birthday

Donald Trump’s 80th birthday will be Donald Trump’s birthday, the president of the United States announced, despite the previously scheduled July 4 announcement of an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fight.

A large UFC fight will take place on June 14th, 2019, right inside the White House, according to Trump, who addressed a crowd of navy sailors at Virginia’s massive naval base Norfolk.

He neglected to mention that his 80th birthday will be on June 14th.

Trump, 79, hosted a military parade to honor the US Army’s founding on his 79th birthday this year.

The mixed martial arts (MMA) match will take place on July 4th, the day the US celebrates its 250th anniversary, according to UFC boss Dana White in August.

Trump has long supported the UFC, most recently exhibiting at a UFC 316 event in New Jersey on June 7 where competitors can punch, kick, and grapple with their opponents in a no-holds-barred fight to submission or knockout.

A historic first will be made by bringing the brutal combat sport to the forefront of US politics.

White stated early in the year at a press conference that would be held on UFC’s YouTube channel that “we will start looking at creating the White House card,” which I will confidently say will be the best fight card ever created in the history of undoubtedly this brand.

The UFC, which combines martial arts disciplines like jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, boxing, and wrestling, is the biggest and most popular organization in the burgeoning field of MMA.

An eight-sided ring known as the “Octagon” – which is bounded by a chainlink fence, hosts the bouts.

Male and female fighters are permitted to attack their opponent with almost any method, with the exception of eye-gouging.

Trump has become a regular fixture at some of its more famous events, where he is greeted like a rock star, because of its popularity among young men, a crucial demographic in the US election of 2024, and his long association with the UFC.

The sport is fraught, with doctors criticizing the possibility of brain damage in fighters who are repeatedly hit in the head, despite growing in popularity in recent years due to its brutal nature and high injury rate.
