At the Super Bowl’s opening ceremony in the coming months, Green Day, who have been vocal critics of Donald Trump, will play.
In recent years, American band members have made a number of negative comments to Trump.
At Download Festival in the UK last summer, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong criticized Trump’s administration and said: “It’s up to us to fight back.”
In line with Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan, he also changed the lyrics to the band’s song American Idiot to say, “I’m not part of the Maga agenda.”
Armstrong stated as the band was being “super hyped” and that they were “super excited” to attend the Super Bowl. Get going, folks!
Bad Bunny, a singer from Puerto Rico, has already been announced as the Super Bowl half-time act.
He claimed in an interview with i-D magazine that he was avoiding the US because he was concerned that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents might conduct raids on fans at his concerts, which polarized opinion.
Trump said on NewsMax’s Greg Kelly Reports that he had never heard of Bad Bunny since he was booked for the Super Bowl. I’m not sure who he is.
On February 8, Super Bowl 60 will take place in Santa Clara, California.
Trump watched the Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles at last year’s Super Bowl, but it’s not yet known if he will be there this year.
