
Seven armed bandits were killed and four motorcycles were recovered at Baba in Katsina State’s Kankara Local Government Area by Nigerian Army.
Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, the commissioner for internal security and home affairs, made this disclosure on Friday while giving journalists a briefing.
He claimed that the operation, which lasted for more than two hours on Thursday, was carried out after reliable information revealed criminal activity was enraging rural communities there.
Mu’azu claimed that the troops successfully attacked the bandits, neutralizing seven of them while the rest fled with gunshot wounds.
During the mission, four motorcycles used for their operations were also recovered.

This success is a result of the military’s ongoing operations in front-line local government areas, which aim to end illegal hunting and restore peace to farming activities during the rainy season, he said.
