Troops Kill ‘Several’ Terrorists In Borno

In order to stop a terrorist attack early in the morning, the Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) killed several insurgents and severely damaged their operational capacity in Bitta, in the Mandara Mountains’ Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

The incident occurred on Thursday morning, according to the Joint Task Force’s media information officer, Lt. Col. Sani Uba.

According to Uba, “the surviving terrorists attempted to withdraw; subsequent precision strikes were carried out by the Air Component of OPHK, further decimating the retreating elements and disrupting their escape routes.”

On December 18, 2025, troops supported by advanced surveillance systems discovered terrorists moving toward the area at around 0030 hours.

The troops “performed the terrorists’ movements into an effective engagement range while using tactical restraint and professionalism before starting coordinated defensive fires.” A top-ranking terrorist fighter and his cameraman were among the targets of the engagement, which led to the neutralization of several insurgents.

The Theatre Command claims that the items recovered include motorcycles and bicycles, AK-47 rifles, bandoliers, handheld radios, 11 AK-47 magazines with rounds, seven mobile phones, PKT machine guns, and several belts of PKT and GPMG-linked ammunition.
