Travis Barker of Blink-182 made sure he was able to land one of the empty cans after Ozzy was informed that his DNA was being sold in 10 cans.
Blink-182’s Travis Barker has revealed he bought Ozzy Osbourne’s saliva for $450 in wild DNA stunt.
Infinitely Recyclable Ozzy, a rock legend, has collaborated with Liquid Death to create a bizarre new album. Fans won’t even be able to drink it, even though they initially believed there might be a limited edition version.
Instead, each can costs $450 and is pre-drunk by Ozzy himself, and it is filled with traces of his signature and saliva.
Only 10 cans were ever produced, and Travis Barker, 49, from Blink-182, uploaded a photo of the empty can to Instagram and snagged one.
Travis has previously expressed his admiration for Ozzy; he recently posted vintage rock shirts for his son Rocky, and he was featured on one.
When the company dropped the launch, they branded it as a way to “recycle the one-of-one star forever,” teasing: “Once technology and federal law permit, you can replicate Ozzy and enjoy him for hundreds of years into the future.”
And in true Prince of Darkness fashion, Ozzy, who has never shied away from chaos, granted it.
“Clone me, you b**stards”! he stated. Never try freebasing it, no matter what you do. And you little perverts, don’t even think about tampering with it.
The Black Sabbath frontman has not done this before with outrageous antics. He famously slit the head off a live bat during a concert in 1982, a moment that has forever changed rock music.
He later admitted that despite believing the bat to be a rubber toy, he still required a rabies shot following the incident. Some fans believe his DNA may actually be immortal, which is why that bizarre stunt and how he managed to survive to tell the story.
Travis’ decision to buy one of the limited-edition cans has only added to the buzz, and it’s clear the drummer is just as fascinated by Ozzy as the rest of the world.
