Although Paul Kim’s son, age 5, passed away, a significant update that had given the family hope just days prior had just been released.

The death of an influencer’s five-year-old son came as a huge shock after the family revealed ‘miracle’ news just days earlier. A heartbroken Paul Kim took to social media on Thursday to reveal his son Micah died on New Year’s Eve.

The influencer took to Instagram to share the devastating news. He said his son has fought for 11 days after contracting a severe case of flu.

However, days before his tragic announcement, the family appeared to have had what they thought was good news about their son’s condition. In a GoFundMe page that had been set up to try to help the family cover medical expenses, the organiser offered a glimmer of hope on Christmas Day.

The update on December 25 read: “Merry Christmas everyone! We are blown away by the generous support everyone has been pouring out upon the Kim family. Thank you x a million!!!

“GoFundMe has a feature that updates and increases the goal automatically. Because the expenses and extent of medical care are unknown and likely in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Kims, we’ve left this feature on – which is why you’ll see the goal changing.“We had good news today that Micah’s heart keeps improving and getting better!!! This is huge!

Please continue to pray for his reduced brain swelling and complete recovery, in Jesus’ name, through Fulton Sheen’s aid. Hug your loved ones today, God bless you all.

Unfortunately, the outcome was not good, so Paul took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news. He took to his platform to tell his followers that their son had been “fighting for 11 long, difficult days” before losing his life.

We’re so proud of him, Paul said. On behalf of my family, I want to thank you sincere and sincere as his father for all the prayers and favors you guys have received during this difficult time.

“This is a very difficult time for our family,” our family said. The hardest experience I’ve ever had has been and continues to be.”

He continued, “I feel like I owed all of you an update out of gratitude because I only want to have privacy this time and have time to grieve with my family.”

“Micah is already in Heaven at work, seriously, so many testimonies, so many ways in which God is using the light in my five-year-old to truly save souls and change the world.”

While some followers have so far raised more than $350,000 for the GoFundMe, others have already done so through Paul’s post.

There are no words, a user wrote. I apologize so much. Even more people than you know about your faith in this most intolerable of trials are inspired by it.

Our thoughts are with you, another poem. We express our sincere regret for your loss, and we are praying for you and your family. We are so inspired by your faith, and we can only pray that the Lord will close Micah in His loving mercy.
