Since their split in August 2024 and their reconciliation in May 2025, Tommy Fury has been attempting to rebuild his family life with Molly-Mae Hague and their daughter Bambi.
Tommy Fury found himself at odds with his father John in the latest episode of his new BBC documentary, The Good, The Bad, The Fury, after being told he should not spend Christmas Day with his young daughter, Bambi.
The 25-year-old former Love Island star, who shares his two-year-old daughter with fiancée Molly-Mae Hague, has been preparing for a major fight. John Fury insisted that family time during the festive period would derail Tommy’s focus.
In John’s second episode, it was made clear that he expected his son to fully commit himself to the rigorous training camp.
“Interruptions are what we don’t want,” he says. People are arriving. He warned against it, “we don’t want it.” “Because you’re not resting when you’re here talking to other people.” You want to work out repeatedly, eat, drink, sleep, train, and repeat. You’ve only got four to six weeks to go and do the other stuff, haven’t you? It’s six weeks of hell. The only thing that exists is a bar, alcohol, s*** food, and s*** company.

Tommy rebuffed, pointing out that training already has consumed his life. That’s the only thing I ever do, in any case. My entire life is spent doing nothing. He responded, “Train.”
But John stood firm, telling his son that discipline sometimes meant making sacrifices, even with family. “If you can’t sacrifice six weeks of your time without your children, all that s*** in the world outside. What we doing here?” he asked.
However, Tommy vowed never to let his brief time off from camp to watch his daughter on Christmas Day affect his performance in the ring. He said, “I can’t see me picking the baby, saying “merry Christmas,” and I can’t see that going to help me win a fight on Christmas Day.
John shot back with a blunt response: “You’re not doing that this time.” When Tommy countered that “you’ve got to be happy,” his father dismissed the idea, insisting that reaching the next level in boxing requires uncompromising commitment.
“Yes, but you just need to go hug the baby for five minutes,” the woman said. Tommy argued that that is in no way harmful. However, John was unaware of this when he said, “You go back, you have your Christmas, you hold the baby, and all of a sudden you get an L on your record for that day.” You’ll resent them because you’ll never see them again, whether you’re a member of your family or not.
Tommy was frustrated and said that 20 minutes of my day on Christmas wouldn’t matter, but John doubled down with the final, sharp remark, “The greats don’t do it.”
After their disagreement, Tommy described the challenging situation in a sincere interview with the camera, saying, “My dad doesn’t understand the modern world. And of course, he’s an old-fashioned fella, and given the amount of bull**** that’s happening, even I find it difficult to live in the world today.
