Tom Holland, who was reportedly in the running to play James Bond, is reportedly unable to do so as a result of rumors that he has contract obligations with Marvel.

Spiderman actor Tom Holland is reportedly out of the running to play the next James Bond due to contractual obligations with Marvel.

Tom, who was a top contender in the past, is now withdrawn, according to a source who claimed Tom cannot accept a position that will overshadow his commitments to the Marvel Universe’s Spider-Man.

Anthony Boyle, one of the frontrunners for the role, is rumored to be one of the big ones, but other well-known actors include Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elord.

While the role of 007 is yet to be decided, Tom, 29, has reportedly signed a contract with Marvel, which will stop him from taking on the role. A source revealed: “Tom can’t play two superheroes, it just won’t happen.”

“This is the first Bond of the AI era and the plot is going to reflect that. Writers are going to have some fun. This next Bond movie has to feel bold, fresh and relevant, especially after such a long break,” they told The Sun.

The Mirror has contacted Tom Holland’s representatives for a comment.

A new name was recently added to the mix as fans eagerly awaited the confirmation of who will play the iconic James Bond role in the upcoming installment of the franchise.

The bookies at Ladbrokes sent House of Guinness star Anthony straight in at 10/1 in the odds earlier this month. It comes as the star was named as the Netflix drama series’s “secret weapon” and landed rave reviews for his performance.

Since Daniel Craig last hung up his Walther PPK, there has been debate over who will take the part and don the iconic tuxedo as James Bond.

Production for the 26th James Bond film, which will be the 26th, is scheduled for April at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

Steven Knight, the director who reportedly is headed the search for the next James Bond, is in charge of the plot, and Denis Villeneuve is the director.

The actor, who was first portrayed by Ian Fleming in his 1953 spy series, rose to fame in the 1960s with the film’s silver screen success. Numerous Hollywood stars have since been portrayed as the aloof secret agent.
