The famous father of Tom Hanks and his famous father were on the set of his most recent music video, a love letter to the Oscar-winning 1994 movie Forrest Gump, which was starring Tom Hanks and won him an Oscar.
Tom Hanks, a Hollywood legend, will appear in Chet Hanks’ most recent music video, which parodies the well-known movie Forrest Gump. When Chet, 34, unveiled the music video for his new song, You Better Run, he delighted viewers by being the son of Oscar winner Tom and Sleepless in Seattle actress Rita Wilson, 68.
The title itself seems to be a nod to legendary movie director Tom, 68, who had the recognizable line, “Run, Forest, run”! Chet and his Something Out West bandmate recreate scenes from the 1994 movie in the You Better Run video.
At one point, Tom and his son are seated next to him at a bus stop while Chet is dressed as Forest Gump. In scenes that were heartwarming to watch, the father and son exchange and grunt and laugh before hugging one another.
One wrote in the comments section of the song’s YouTube page: “Dope song , very well written. Love his dad and the nostalgia of it. I’m a fan.” While another typed: “Gotta love Chet goofing on his dad all through the video. Awesome.”
Chet and Drew Arthur, a friend and fellow musician, co-founded the band Something Out West. The band announced at the time that they had signed a record deal with Big Machine and Scott Borchetta, and that they were “excited to partner with them.”
The response they have received to “Leaving Hollywood” and the rest of the music is incredible. We’ve been making music together for a long time, and we’re thrilled to have found a home at Big Machine for this upcoming project.
While the band’s official bio states that “Something Out West was born in California when bandmates Chet and Drew were roommates at a crucial time, both of whom were on a sobriety-related journey that sparked a deep friendship and creative partnership.
Their relocation to Nashville improved their sound by blending distinctive vocals, timeless storytelling, and contemporary influences that respect the genre’s roots while moving forward.
Chet has recently shared his thoughts on social media about success and god. He stated in a video that he had been wanting to share his new song that he had been doing for a while that he wasn’t going to preach to people. “I’ve been wanting to share this for a long time, but I haven’t.”
He continued, “Just understand that whatever you’re going through right now, whether it’s a really hard time, a painful time, or a great time in your life. Nothing in your eyes is real, even in the dark. What you can feel in your spirit, such as love, joy, and peace, are the only things that are real, and that is God.
“God exists and experiences itself, and there is only one thing happening right now.” God is the only person who controls everything else within it, and that is the source of all that. and that real-world experience allows for direct contact with God. Gnosis, or direct experiential knowledge without the use of drugs or hallucinations, is what it is known as. Every individual has their own internalizing it.
Chet, who has previously battled drug addiction, came to the conclusion that “this life is a beautiful learning experience.” He went on to explain the theory more in detail.
