On Friday, September 19, President Bola Tinubu will travel to Kaduna State.
Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, confirmed the trip in a statement on Thursday.
The President will visit Aisha, the late former president Muhammadu Buhari’s widow, at the family’s residence while he is in Kaduna.
His aide revealed that President Tinubu will also honor Safiya Shehu Idris’ marriage to Nasirudeen Yari, the son of Zamfara West Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, during the trip.

Tinubu was scheduled to arrive in Abuja the same day as his engagements in Kaduna, according to the Presidency.
On July 13, 2025, Buhari, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, passed away, bringing in national mourners.
After a lengthy illness, the former president passed away in London. He was 82.
In honor of Buhari, Tinubu proclaimed seven days of mourning and commanded the flow of national flags in half-mast.
On July 15, 2025, Buhari was buried in Daura, Katsina State, where he was born. Following Muslim customs, the burial took place.
