
Today’s joint session of the National Assembly is expected to give the budget for 2026 to President Bola Tinubu.
The presentation is scheduled for 2 p.m. m.
Tinubu had written to the Senate asking for its approval of the annual budget presentation.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, proposed to present the budget to a joint session of the National Assembly in accordance with the letter that was read during the plenary.
Some lawmakers expressed concern about the proposed timing, but Akpabio agreed to speak with the President about it. Some lawmakers noted that the time would coincide with Muslim prayers.
2025 Budget
