Tinubu Feeding Nigerians With Wrong Economic Statistics, Peter Obi Alleges

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate for president in the 2023 election, accused Bola Tinubu of allegedly presenting untrue data to cover up the economic situation’s reality.

Obi claimed that Tinubu once ridiculed his emphasis on data when discussing governance in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Bola Tinubu, the then APC presidential candidate, insulted the other candidate (Peter Obi), saying, “Na statistics, we go, all I want is put food on the table of Nigerians,” while campaigning in Delta State in November 2022.

“Nigeria is now considered one of the hungriest countries in the world, with millions of Nigerians unsure of where their next meal will come from,” he said after two years of his four-year tenure.

“President Tinubu is now overfeeding Nigerians with incorrect statistics, inaccurate inflation data, and GDP rebasing, all of which put a positive spin on our deteriorating economic and household conditions. Like I have always said, “Governance is not a gamble; it requires sincerity of purpose, character, competence, capacity, and compassion.”
