Tinubu Extends Tenure Of Surveyor-General

The term of AbuduGaniyu Adebomehin, the surveyor-general of the Federation, has been extended by two years, according to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser to information and strategy, made this known in a statement on Wednesday.

The Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGOF) recently being transferred to the Presidency, according to the statement, necessitated the extension, which takes effect on January 5, 2026.

The President wants to see the Surveyor-General’s reforms completed, according to Onanuga, in which crucial geospatial data systems are already under the control of the Surveyor-General.

President Tinubu is reportedly anticipating Adebomehin to consolidate the reforms over the next two years, with particular attention given to the administration and management of national land.

Additionally, he is expected to concentrate on coordination of highways and abutting land infrastructure, reclamation and erosion control initiatives, and other pressing national issues.

On January 5, 2022, Adebomehin was sworn in as the Federation’s Surveyor-General (SGoF).

The term of the Federation’s Surveyor-General, Mr. AbuduGaniyu Adebomehin, has been extended by two years, according to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
