Tinubu Backs Fintech Firms As Flutterwave Seeks Listing On NGX
Bola Tinubu, president of Nigeria, stated that his administration would support businesses that offer services to Africans and Nigerians in the financial technology sector.
He said this when he received the leadership of Flutterwave and Alami Capital in Abuja on Saturday afternoon, presidential spokesman , Bayo Onanuga said.
Oluseun Olufemi-White served as Alami Capital’s chief executive, Oluwabankole Falade, Oluwabankole Falade, Oluseun Olufemi-White, Oluwabankole Falade, and other stakeholders at the meeting.
The delegation met with President Tinubu under the leadership of Wale Edun, the minister of finance and the coordination minister of the economy. Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), and Dr. Inuwa Kashifu Abdullahi, the Director General/ Chief Executive Officer of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), also attended.
As president, President Tinubu declared that Nigeria is genuinely open to business and that he is determined to remove all barriers to growth.
He commended Flutterwave’s commitment to building capacity in the digital economy sector, especially as it is being made possible by energetic, young Nigerians. He expressed his gratitude for being elected president of a nation with such a young and talented populace.
He claimed that Nigeria needs the leadership Flutterwave can offer the digital world to grow its economy and simplify life for the majority of its population.
Since its founding ten years ago, Flutterwave has made significant progress, according to Edun. Through the use of cutting-edge digital platforms and payment services in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, it has created jobs and contributed to the diversification of the economy.
Agboola claimed the business has provided payment options for Nigerians in the diaspora who are willing to send money to their families and relatives in the country and made it simple for them to use Naira to pay for some global services.
He said Flutterwave, valued at over $3 billion, is a Nigerian export and brand employing over 1, 000 Nigerians.
