Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor in a drama film at the Golden Globes for his role in Marty Supreme, and thanked his ‘partner’ during his emotional acceptance speech
Timothée Chalamet gave a heartfelt nod to girlfriend Kylie Jenner during his Golden Globes acceptance speech.
The actor scooped up the best actor in a drama film award for his portrayal of a table tennis champion in the sports flick Marty Supreme.
This marks the star’s maiden Golden Globe triumph, arriving just one week after he claimed the Critics Choice award for the same role, , reports the Daily Star..
The 30 year old thanked his fellow cast and crew members as he collected the honour from presenter Jennifer Lopez. “This category is stacked. I look up to all of you, thank you,” he told the audience.
“To [my director] Josh Safdie, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for this role. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for this portrait, for your mind, for your worldview.”
His speech then became more emotional, with the 30 year old reflecting: “My dad instilled in me a spirit of gratitude growing up, always be grateful for what you have.
“It’s allowed me to leave this ceremony in the past empty-handed, my head held high, grateful just to be here. But I would be lying if those moments didn’t make this moment that much sweeter.”
He wrapped up by saying: “For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much,” he concluded. Chalamet’s mention of Jenner follows closely after the Critics’ Choice awards, where he described the reality television personality as his “foundation” during his acceptance speech.
He declared: “I’ll just say thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Jenner was present at the event alongside Chalamet but chose not to pose on the red carpet.
The couple were filmed within the Beverly Hilton’s ballroom, mingling with fellow guests at their table.
Video clips also captured Jennifer Lawrence, a well-known admirer of the Kardashian family, making her way over to chat with Jenner.
Lawrence was spotted bending down for an animated conversation with Jenner, before turning her attention to Safdie.
