Anything can happen at the Academy Awards, as viewers may have known over the years. In 2022, Will Smith punched Chris Rock. Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp found themselves just metres apart in this year’s Oscars, adding some drama.
For his role as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, the French-American actor received the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He lost out to Adrien Brody, thereby denying him a chance to become the youngest Oscar winner ever. However, his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, joined him, which undoubtedly sparked an unanticipated feud with one of his former lovers.
Lily took to the stage as part of the presenting team for Best Costume Design as Timothée and Kylie cosied up in the front row. In a strange coincidence, she was joined by one of Chalamet’s co-stars in A Complete Unknown, Elle Fanning, who also co-starred with her.
After sparks started erupting between them while Timothée and Lily were filming The King for Netflix, they dated for about a year and a half from October 2018 to April 2020. Their relationship was very public, with frequently shared photos of the two kissing in public. They were fond of each other up until their unexpected breakup, for reasons that are unknown, in interviews despite the fact that they rarely discussed their romance.
Since dating for more than a year, Chalamet and Jenner have quickly grown to be one of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples. They initially kept their relationship private, but they have since made it official by collaborating on significant events. The couple frequently shows signs of affection in public, and they show it very affectionately.

At this year’s Oscars, Timothée and Lily were not the only exes to reunite. Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, former stars of Hollywood, were also present at the same occasion. Before declaring their divorce in 2001, the two were together for ten years. Ryan made a solo appearance while Quindai and his wife Laura Savoie were seen together on the red carpet.
Adrien Brody and Halle Berry contributed to one of the night’s most unexpected moments. When Berry approached Brody and jokingly said to his partner Georgina Chapman, “I’m sorry, Georgina, but I’ve got to do it,” he was caught off guard as he spoke to reporters. Then, much to the shock of onlookers, she kissed Brody. The conversation ended with Brody and Berry giving Georgina a hug and a warm embrace before Berry and Berry exchanged a laugh.

The situation had a funny backstory, despite the fact that it seemed entirely random. Halle Berry presented Adrien Brody with the award in 2003 when he won his first Oscar for The Pianist. Before quipping, “Bet they didn’t tell you that was in the gift bag,” Brody impulsively grabbed Berry and kissed her on stage in an now-iconic Oscars moment. 22 years later, Berry receives her compensation. The perfect time to pair up on the red carpet was the first time since that unforgettable moment.
This year’s Academy Awards demonstrated once more that the drama doesn’t end with the ceremony, from former flames cross paths to long-awaited red carpet reunions. The Oscars are still as much about the stories that are happening onscreen as they are about the unexpected encounters and happy moments, regardless of whether they are emotional wins or happy moments.
