As fans try to determine whether Timothée Chalamet has secretly been producing music or whether it’s just Timothée Chalamet, the actor, has spoken about the EsDeeKid conspiracy.
Fans of Timothée Chalamet are persuaded that he has a secret career as a rapper, and he even performs with a Liverpudlian accent to spooky listeners. The actor, who appeared on the news this week and dodged the question with a straightforward “no comment,” recently sparked the conspiracy theory.
In the interview, BBC correspondent Colin Paterson said: “You’re here in the UK. You can clear it up. EsDeeKid. What is going on?” As soon as Timothée hears the name, he shakes his head before replying: “No comment.”
The interviewer goes on to say, “No comment, but give us a Scouse accent.” Give us your most admirable Beatle. Timothée responds, “You’ll see… all in time,” politely declining the request.
EsDeeKid, a rapper from Liverpool, only lets his eyes appear in music videos. Fans have been attempting to guess who he really is because of this.
EsDeeKid’s debut album Rebel was released in June, and he was named one of the year’s breakout stars in 2024 by Pitchfork.
While he has managed to keep his identity – including his appearance, age, and real name – a secret, he did reveal on X (formerly Twitter) that he still lives in a council house.
Commenting on BBC’s Instagram post, one user wrote: “A video clip with two EsDeeKids, the real one and Timothée, coming soon.”
Another person responded, “Why wouldn’t he just say it’s not him?”
A third user said: “It’s not him, 100%. He is merely letting this emerging British rapper shine in front of the camera. He’s just letting people believe he’s the one.
Discussing the theory on Reddit, another user said: “I definitely can see it, but I think Tim’s got straighter eyebrows and not as pointed, especially toward the center of the face. But if I hear a song about statistics, I might have to take a second look. Lol.”
Another added, “It’s obvious that he’s not him, but I thought people were kidding when they started the rumor mill.” People actually believe this, but I went along because I thought it was funny. “?

Although this rapper has several concerts planned and has already had several, there is no way Timothée could be able to attend all of those, I believe this could be more of an Easter egg. Even though Timmy is an actor, it would be challenging because he also has a loud British accent. However, I believe the little prank could be one where Timmy is merely filmed in the music videos while the rapper is a different person.
