The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 114-108 to take a 3-0 series lead in the Western Conference play-offs after coming back from a 29-point deficit.
The top-seeded Thunder put the Grizzlies on the verge of elimination after leading by 26 points at half-time.
At the start of the third quarter, the Grizzlies were up 77-51 and on the verge of regaining control of the series.
However, Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant’s late-season injury turned out to be a turning point, with the 25-year-old attempting a dunk while suffering a hard hip injury.
Grizzlies interim coach Tuomas Iisalo stated, “He’s going through further evaluations tomorrow, then we’ll know more.”
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder in scoring with 31 points, while Jalen Williams added 26.
Knicks pass Pistons in a hurry
The New York Knicks won 118-116 to take the series lead after losing Game Two against the Detroit Pistons, giving them a 2-1 lead.
Josh Hart recorded 11 rebounds and nine assists in the defensive half while Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, and Mikal Bridges all had more than 20 points.
The Pistons will regret a subpar second quarter that saw them go from 13 points up to 13 in the Knicks’ favor at half-time.
Tim Hardaway Jr. and Cade Cunningham each had 24 points in a strong response.
