Three Teenage Boys Drown In Bauchi River

In Jinkiri Village, Tirwun Ward, in the Bauchi Local Government Area of the state, three teenagers have been confirmed dead after drowning while swimming in a river.

CSP Ahmad Wakili, the police’s public relations officer for the Bauchi State Police Command, released a statement on Wednesday confirming the tragic accident.

Habibu Mohammed, Abubakar Mohammed, 16, and Zailani Sule, 14, were all identified as Durum Village residents.

The teenagers’ initial findings point to a mining activity before the decision to swim in the river, according to the statement. &nbsp,

Further investigation revealed that the accident happened on Wednesday around 1 p.m. &nbsp,

The teenagers passed away before going to the hospital, so attempts to get medical attention were unsuccessful.

The Police Commissioner, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, expressed his condolences in the statement and stressed the importance of safety, particularly in the rainy season. &nbsp,

The Command also provided a personal assurance to the people that an investigation into the tragic circumstance has been conducted and that the bodies have been buried for burial following an examination at the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital.

Three teenagers from Durum Village, in the Tirwun Ward, are the tragic victims of a recent incident in Jinkiri Village, Tirwun Ward, Bauchi Local Government Area. Unfortunately, the young people’s lives were lost in a tragic river accident.

The teenagers were later found dead before going to the hospital, and despite immediate efforts for medical assistance, the incident occurred around 1300hrs. &nbsp,

According to the preliminary investigation, the teenagers had previously chosen to swim in the river because they had been engaged in mining operations.

The Nigeria Police Force Bauchi State Command, led by the honorable Commissioner of Police CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu psc (+), mni, expresses its sincere condolences to the families who were affected and underscores the urgent need for increased safety awareness when engaging in water activities, particularly in bad weather. &nbsp,

Following an examination at the Specialist Hospital in Bauchi State, an investigation into the tragic circumstance has been launched, and the bodies have been buried for the families.
