When she gave birth to daughter Ruby in June 2024, Ian Welby became the first woman to do so. She has been open about the ups and downs ever since.
A This Morning star has opened up about hitting rock bottom and “really struggling” as a parent. Sian Welby is best known for being a staple on the ITV show.
She has been honest with her fans about recently struggling to balance her work and being a mum. She explained to her followers that her Instagram page isn’t a realistic representation of her life as she tends to just document her work commitments on there.
Ruby was born in 2024 to the mother-of-one, and she has since given her followers an understanding of how she has come to terms with motherhood.

On Monday night, the 39-year-old posted an emotional video to her social media accounts. Jake Beckett, who is frequently seen out and about with, is the mother of her daughter.
Sian tends to post her most exciting jobs on her Instagram page which includes appearing on This Morning and hosting Capital Breakfast. However, she said that it is “really hard” to be a mum and also have a successful career.
Sian said that she frequently finds herself trying to “survive the day” and wonders if she is a “bad mum” as she tries to balance her work and personal lives.
She stated in the video that she had a “really tough few weeks of parenting” and wanted to show her fans how to raise their children while working full-time.
Hello, Just a quick one from me because I’ve got a lot of DMs asking, “Oh Sian, how are you doing it?” and I’m starting to feel bad about it. The red carpet, celebrities, and other such things.
My Instagram looks so glossy and showbiz, but I’m afraid that it reflects something that’s not in real life. On the contrary, some days I’m completely rock bottom, cold in a corner, wondering how I’m going to survive the following day, wondering how I’m going to get to work, and I just don’t want to add more pressure on my parents.
I literally use my Instagram to show you all of my professional work, almost like a CV but I’m not showing you the full picture. “I don’t want my timeline to look like something you should be trying to achieve.
I’m not showing you the 48 hours of no sleep, the A&, E trips, the missed work commitments, the choice to work or to take childcare, “Am I a good mother, I’m a bad mother, what am I doing? “
She continued, “You know, I’m feeling this all the time and I’m torn and I’m struggling and I’m not getting it right every time,” and there are times when I’m hanging by a thread.
Sian continued, “every person’s situation is unique, and her social media accounts for the most positive aspects of her life and work.
She continued, “I’m just saying this so you know what you see on Instagram is obviously not like the full story and isn’t possible. I’m not saying this to get any kind of pity.”
“I really don’t think what you’re doing isn’t enough, or that I’m somehow I’ve got the parenting cheats because I’m just about surviving,” he said. “Some days I’m just about surviving, and there’s days when I genuinely think how am I going to do it and I think we all just do it,” and when you’re in it you just do it because that’s all you can do.
Everyone’s situation is unique, everyone has commitments they are bound to make, and you must make them consistently.
Sian concluded the video by saying, “But you know I’ve had a really tough few weeks of parenting, and maybe that’s not been reflected on here or on the radio, but I just wanted to be real with you all and it has been really hard. “
Sian gave birth to Ruby via an emergency C-section in June of that year, and Sian then went back to work hosting This Morning.
