Laura Mulley, a beauty editor, recently tried this clear, dark tanning water and was amazed at how long it lasted and how well-liked it was by her admirers.
Wearing shorts, dresses, and T-shirts in the summer give my naturally pale skin a healthy color, I rely on fake tans. I have my favorites, including Isle of Paradise Glow Clear Self Tanning Mousse Medium, but I’m always eager to try new things. Here’s a fake tan that I was very impressed with and received a lot of compliments because I’m particularly interested in finding the best clear fake tans that won’t ruin my bedsheets.
I applied Bare by Vogue Clear Tan Water Dark, a tanning brand created by TV personality Vogue Williams, to my recent Oasis performance that is currently costing me less than £23. It comes out as foamy, feels velvety, evenly applies, and dries quickly, and doesn’t come off onto your sheets until it’s particularly hot and sticky on the night.

I’m naturally very pale, but I was brave enough to use the dark tan because I’ve previously tested the medium and didn’t believe the color was strong enough. Actually, when I woke up the following morning, it wasn’t as dim as I had anticipated; in fact, I was unsure whether anyone would notice a difference.
I thought maybe I was imagining it, but I still felt like the tan remained slightly developing throughout the day even after taking a shower. By the time it was mid-afternoon, I felt confident wearing my chosen ensemble of white shorts and a vintage T-shirt.
And when I met up with friends, I immediately received the compliments, “You look glowing”! one responded. Have you just returned from vacation?”
I was delighted with both how long this tan lasted and not just this response. This Bare by Vogue formula still looked good on my limbs a week later and even pushed my tan to 10 days. Normally, I get about three days of good color before my tan disappears or turns gray. If you want to get long-lasting results, you must try it.
One drawback is that those looking for a very dark color might not like it because it might be darker than what they’ve been doing with their other “medium” tans. Our shopping writer Meghan has been really impressed by how well St Moriz Self Tan Removing Foam, which costs $4.99, works when it’s time to get rid of any old self-tan traces before applying a new layer. Meghan says, “You’ll start to notice the color disappearing in the water almost immediately, and it’s noticeably lifted from the skin.” Some areas were already tan-free with the use of the water pressure (though I did, as I did), so no scrubbing or exfoliating was necessary.
