If your skin is feeling especially dry or dehydrated during the cold weather, this viral Korean beauty moisturiser will really help – and Olivia Attwood and Zara McDermott are fans
The cold winter weather can certainly take its toll on the skin; freezing temperatures, biting winds and moisture-sapping central heating can all leave your complexion looking and feeling more dry, dull and irritated than normal. Luckily, I’ve found a brilliant skincare product that helps with this – and it’s getting lots of love online too.
If you like to keep up to date with trending beauty products, you might have seen or heard about Atobarrier365 Cream from K-beauty brand Aestura, a facial moisturiser that’s fairly new to the UK but already proving popular on social media and amongst celebrities (Olivia Attwood and Zara McDermott have both sung its praises recently). Keen to see if it’s worth the hype, I recently tried it out too – and was so impressed…

I don’t think it’s unfair to say that Aestura’s Atobarrier365 is a fairly basic face cream; free from fragrance, colourants and advanced active ingredients, it’s instead designed to hydrate and strengthen the skin barrier with a formula rich in encapsulated ceramides and fatty acids. It’s also a fairly good price: a 45ml tube costs £17 from Sephora, or larger 80ml bottles can be picked up from Sephora too or Amazon.
My skin can be a little oily and prone to breakouts at times, so admittedly when I first tried this, I thought it was too heavy for me. However, I soon realised that, yes it is rich, but it’s absorbed quickly, and doesn’t feel greasy or pore-clogging at all. In fact, my skin absolutely loved it – it felt brighter, fresher and more comfortable, and significantly healthier.
I actually couldn’t wait to use this every morning and evening (I even reached for it over a moisturiser four times the price), and got through the tube pretty quickly – a rarity as a beauty editor with a cupboard full of creams. If I needed a new moisturiser, I wouldn’t hesitate to use this Aestura one again.
Customers are equally impressed, with one Amazon shopper declaring it “transformed” their skin: “I’ve been using the Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream for a few weeks now, and it has truly transformed my skincare routine. As someone with dry and sensitive skin, finding the right moisturiser has always been a challenge, but this cream has exceeded my expectations.”
“I always break out from all kinds of moisturising creams that claim they don’t cause acne or clog pores and I’ve been using this one for weeks and not a single break out on my face,” another five-star review reads. “This has helped me achieve the desired ‘glass skin’ appearance. I love the glow I get from using it.”
However, one individual warned that they “wouldn’t recommend to people with acne prone combination skin” as it “makes my skin too oily. Winter might be a better option to use this product but I’m just not going use it for the sake of my skin.” Aestura also does a lighter Atobarrier365 Lotion, also £26, which I think I too would prefer in the summer months.
If you are on the hunt for a gentle, hydrating moisturiser for spot-prone skin, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+M comes highly recommended by numerous dermatologists, and is £20.90.
