ExCLUSIVE: Before Zak Starkey’s departure, The Who were in turmoil, but they’ve been given the chance to keep on the road.

According to reports, The Who are going to follow Elton John’s footsteps.

The Who won’t retire and are set to follow in the footsteps of Elton John with one pal saying: “It’s not the end.” The rockers previously told how they are retiring from touring following 60 years together after a final set of dates in North America. The tour, which begins in August, will be a farewell to live shows for the legendary rock band, with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey performing hits from their six-decade career.

After writing The Ballad of Britain about The Who and other bands’ cultural significance in shaping British musical identity, journalist Will Hodgkinson, a band friend, said: “I think they might do what Elton John has done. For a special, Elliot performed at the Palladium.

“I can see them engaging in that behavior. It’s too much for them to be on tour, I believe. But I don’t believe that will be the end.

With his most recent, epic Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour, Elton announced that he was leaving the music industry.

However, he has since made a special appearance at London’s The Palladium. The Who recently experienced a sour situation as a result of Zak Starkey’s departure. However, Will claims that they will “come to life without him.”

He continued, “I find Zak Starkey odd. They probably split, I suppose. That’s what, I suppose, happened. They argued. However, when I saw Zak a few weeks ago, he didn’t even mention it. They will do well, in my opinion.

He continued, “I don’t know who it will be or if they have someone already.”

Lawrence, a failed pop star, was the subject of Will’s most recent book, Street Level Superstar, which he spent a year shadowing in an effort to find a true, unwavering “artist.”

The little-known frontman who fronted 1990s band Denim is a favorite of Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, Pete Townsend, and Noel Gallagher.

The book, which won the prestigious Penderyn Music Book Prize last year, has since become a cult classic (MUST), while Denim’s hardly recognizable album Summer Smash is re-released.

Will said: “I think it took off because failure is more interesting than success. I was very reticent. But I really enjoyed it. I thought creatively this could be really good. This is somebody who is at odds with the world. He looks like a superstar but there he is with no money whatsoever getting shouted at by kids at the bus stop, mistaken for an old lady by an old man outside the pub. I thought this was amazing. When he walks down the street he thinks he is Prince.”

Because he’s such an “unceasing “artist,” The Who’s Townsend even claimed that he wants to be like Lawrence, a former heroin addict.
