After finding out that Nathan Sykes and Max George have unfollowed each other on social media, The Wanted fans are persuaded that the band is in trouble.
Fans have spotted several telling signs that the members aren’t on good terms, leading to reports of a feud between a hugely popular boyband.
Whispers surrounding The Wanted bandmates have been circulating since Nathan Sykes publicly cast doubt over a reunion including him and Jay McGuiness. At the time back in March this year, the singer, who tied the knot earlier this month, explained that it would not feel right to perform as a four piece band instead of five, following the tragic death of Tom Parker in 2022.
Fans have since learned that the bandmates are still feuding after Max George and Nathan Sykes unfollowed one another on social media, but now they are persuaded.
Taking to Reddit, one fan wrote: “Not to sound parasocial or anything, but for some context, I have been a fan of The Wanted since 2012. I have been following all 5 of them on Instagram from 2014 before their breakup.”
The fan continued, “I vividly recall that most of them unfollowed each other, and specifically Max unfollowing them all, and then of course, all of them followed one another back after Tom announced his diagnosis.
They continued, “I couldn’t help but check to see if the boys were all following each other and couldn’t help but notice Max and Nathan unfollowing each other.” I wonder if there is any conflict between them, “lol.”
The band’s members first gained notoriety in 2009 before splitting up in 2014. However, Siva Kaneswaran and Max decided to resurrect in honor of their dear bandmate after Tom’s tragic passing three years ago, naming their duo The Wanted 2.0.
Another user added: “I’ve always suspected Max and Nathan had a falling out before they broke up the first time.”
A third person responded, “It’s a real shame because I adored Nathan and Max’s interactions.” Around two years ago, Nathan used to make comments on Max’s Instagram posts. They continued, “They haven’t followed one another in a very long time.”
“I believe there is some beef there, but I’m not sure what.” “Siva and Max recently performed in Las Vegas. However, neither Jay nor Nathan made an appearance.
In a private ceremony earlier this month, Nathan tied the knot with his fiance Charlotte Burke. However, Jay was the only one who was present, Max or Siva.
