The Traitors star Harry Clark has revealed that footballer Frank Lampard is a secret superfan of the show, and even asked him for some tips on how he did so well.

Frank Lampard may be one of the biggest players of all time, but he’s still looking out for some tips. The Traitors star Harry Clark says the former footballer is a secret mega fan of the show, and even asked where he learned some of his deceitful skills.

“Frank said he was impressed with how I played the game. He actually asked me where I learned the tricks I used to get everyone on my side on the show, I said, ‘I learned them from watching you on the football pitch’, he’s actually a mastermind!” said Harry, admitting that the Coventry City manager sent him an unexpected message on Instagram following the show.

The former soldier, who won the show in 2024 for lying his way through the series as a Traitor, says he has since formed an unlikely friendship with the former footballer, thanks to his wife.

“I filmed quite a few things with Christine, and she’s the nicest person ever, and she told me that Frank watched The Traitors.

“I didn’t believe her, I thought she was joking but then Frank followed me on Instagram and messaged me to say ‘Merry Christmas’,” added Harry, 24, of how the friendship bloomed, as he spoke at the launch of Fame Factory at London’s ExCel.

After admiring one another from afar, the duo finally got a night out together this summer to watch rockers Liam and Noel Gallagher together.

Harry explained, “I then went to Oasis this summer and I bumped into Christine, who said Frank was coming to the concert too so I could meet him.

“I couldn’t believe it, I was really starstruck and Christine said, ‘Act cool though’. I thought, ‘Am I not acting cool already?’ I kept it together and managed to have a couple of drinks with him, then we watched Oasis together. It was the best night.” Will it be dinner at the Lampards going forward, then? “Oh, I wish,” laughed Harry.

The Celebrity Traitors kicks off tonight, with a host of famous faces such as Kate Garraway and Alan Carr heading to the Scottish castle for the game of deceit.

And while Frank may not be on the roster taking part, Harry is looking forward to being on the other side of the screen and watching how the famous players get on.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how they play it, to be honest. It’ll be interesting to see whether they really are themselves, or whether they come with their famous personas and a bit of a mask on.

It’s very different from my season because we weren’t known and had nothing to lose, whereas they already have personas.”
