The lippie is described as a buildable coverage lipstick with a glossy satin finish making it ideal for everyday wear. Shoppers could also layer the lip colour with a gloss or balm for a higher shine finish, while LookFantastic’s website suggests it teams well with MAC’s Oak liner (£17, was £20).
Another customer enthused: “After all the hype over Mac Fleshpot I had to try, and I was not disappointed. The colour is absolutely stunning.
They continued: “I paired it with my go to Mac lip pencil in shade Boldy Bare (thank me later) and I think I just found my new fave lip combo. I have loads of shades of these Mac lipsticks and as always the quality, the texture, the hydration and the staying power of them is second to none. Always highly recommend.”
Naturally, not all beauty products suit all shopper’s tastes, and it’s worth noting one found the shade too warm-toned for their liking, commenting: “I’ve been a die hard wearer of the original fleshpot since the late 90’s/early 2000’s when I had to order over the phone as it was originally a pro product. I was devastated when they discontinued it, and have been using the last dregs I could get out of my pots.
“It really suited my cool toned skin and blue eyes. Finally got my hands on two of the new Fleshpots and I’m so disappointed, the colour is not the same at all, and is more warm with a peachyness to it instead of a pale pink.
“Doesn’t match my skin at all. If you’re going to bring a product back, at least make it the same colour please.”
However, another wearer was pleased with the lipstick, commenting: “I remember the original fleshpot so I’m happy to see the 90s nudes back. It is a slightly different tone to the original but still perfect for the nude lip.
“I have very pale skin and I wear it with a darker lip liner and it looks great. Lips look full and feel confident.”
