A major continuity flaw in Jim Carrey’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas has been discovered by fans who have been watching it for more than 20 years.

A staggering 25 years have passed since “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” hit cinemas – yet it continues to be a beloved staple throughout the Christmas season.

Jim Carrey reprises the role of the titular green grouch in the live-action holiday film and uses illustrations from the timeless 1957 children’s book. The magical village of Whoville, where its energizing residents are busy getting ready for their Christmas celebrations, is where the story takes place.

The Grinch harbors deep resentment toward the Whos and their holiday giggling, a bitter green creature that lives alone on Mount Crumpit with his devoted companion Max. The Grinch plots to “steal Christmas” by infiltrating Whoville on Christmas Eve under the cover of darkness, motivated by his hatred for Christmas and the Whos’ commercial interests.

The movie is now one of the most highly acclaimed Christmas releases of all time thanks to its impressive 18 awards and 37 nominations.

However, eagle-eyed fans have recently discovered a mistake they claim will ruin the entire experience despite its success.

One critic lamenting, “You ruined it for me,” as a result of this removing some of the magic from the scene.

One person remarked, “I just screamed,” while others expressed their shock. This is not something I’ve ever seen.”

Fans may have found the error to be rather fascinating, though. “I freaking love little details like this,” a fan exclaimed.

One fan, however, admitted to having seen The Grinch numerous times but hadn’t noticed.
