In a Venice extravaganza, Lauren Sanchez, a former morning TV anchor with a love of flying, is set to wed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, the fourth-richest person in the world.
When they secretly started dating, both were married to other people, about the same time.
Bezos and his first wife, publicity-shy MacKenzie Scott, announced their divorce in January of that year, declaring their intention to carry out “our shared lives as friends.”

In 1992, Bezos and Scott met while both employed by a New York hedge fund. In a rented garage in Bellevue, Washington, they left their jobs and co-founded Amazon.
In an offer to stop the publication of vile photos and texts exchanged with Sanchez, Bezos publicly accused the US tabloid National Enquirer of blackmail a month after the split.
He suggested that Saudi Arabia, whose leaders reportedly disagreed with the publication’s ownership of The Washington Post’s coverage of the journalist’s murder, Jamal Khashoggi, was behind the plot.
Sanchez later revealed that her brother had sold the Enquirer allegedly for $200,000.

Bezos resigned as CEO of Amazon in 2021 as a result of his new romance blossoming.
Bezos, 61, stated that his main motivation for reversing his decision was to devote more time and energy to Blue Origin, his space exploration business, and charitable endeavors.
He continues to be the retail giant’s largest shareholder and Amazon’s executive chairman, and he still has a lot of influence over the direction of the business.
Bezos and Sanchez frequently attend Oscar parties and other celeb haunts. Sanchez frequently communicates via Instagram, occasionally expressing her love for Bezos or her kids. They made their engagement announcement in 2023.
Bezos’ relationship with Sanchez, who is exuberantly dressed, saw a significant transformation in his appearance, opting instead for a more muscular playboy with a more athletic frame.
“Is it hot outside, or just me”? A shirtless Bezos in swimming trunks climbing the ladder of his $500 million mega yacht was a caption for Sanchez’s Instagram post from 2023.
“Changed my life,” I say.
Before he started dating Bezos, Sanchez, 55, was not well-known.
Sanchez, a third-generation Mexican American who was born in New Mexico, has dyslexia and has one of her goals in raising awareness of the learning disability.
She claimed that she had no idea what she was thinking when a professor at a community college told her she had the condition and was incredibly intelligent.
According to Sanchez, “It changed my life,” helping her to receive a scholarship to the University of Southern California.
Before beginning her television career with Fox Sports and Extra, a TV tabloid-style news program in Los Angeles, she left USC and began her career there.
She was turned down for a spot on “The View,” a talk show hosted by TV news legend Barbara Walters, in 1999, a performance that was close to achieving national fame.
Sanchez instead appeared on a local morning news program from 2011 to 2017 as a face-to-face for Angelenos.
She married Hollywood agglomerate Patrick Whitesell, who they have two children named Evan and Ella, for the majority of those years.
She also has a son named Nikko from her relationship with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.
With his ex-wife, Bezos has four children: a son named Preston, who was born in 2000, two sons, and one adopted daughter, whose ages and names are private.
Women are able to fly.
Sanchez is a huge fan of flying. She founded a company that specialized in aerial filming after leaving morning television, and she also served as a consultant for Christopher Nolan’s film Dunkirk.
In 2017, she told The Hollywood Reporter, “This space is dominated by men.” There is no reason why more women shouldn’t be in this situation, though. There is nothing physically involved in flying a helicopter.
Although the 11-minute flight on Blue Origin was criticized as wasteful, her passion for space also led her to orbit in April.
Katy Perry, who was also a guest at Sanchez’s bachelorette party in Paris last month, was one of the members of the crew.
