One star terrified audiences as she collapsed on stage at a festival, and told fans she was ‘truly sorry’ but later added that she had ‘no memory’ of the incident
A pop star sparked panic among fans after collapsing during her set at a musical festival. She was mid-song when she fell and had to be carried of by a member of security – and later admitted to having no memory of the incident.
Hyuna, a pop icon in South Korea, was at the Waterbomb Macau festival on Sunday (9 November). The 33-year-old was performing her 2011 hit Bubble Pop! when she fainted.
Fans caught video footage of the terrifying moment, which showed Hyuna stumbled and fell as she sang, and two back-up dancers rushed to her aid. The singer had to be carried off stage by a member of security.

She later took to Instagram to apologise to her fans and reassure them that she was okay. She wrote: “I’m truly sorry. It was only a short time since my last performance, but I wanted to show you my best side.”
She added that she had no memory of what happened: “I don’t think I’ve been able to be a pro. Actually I don’t remember anything either.” But, she continued to say she wanted to “work hard consistently” to improve her stamina.
The singer, who has been part of K-Pop groups Wonder Girls, 4Minute and Triple H, said: “I’ll try to build up my stamina and work hard consistently. It will be so great if everything goes my way, but I’ll try my best.”
This comes only weeks after the singer worried fans by posting about her “strict diet”. Sharing on Instagram, she wrote that she had eaten “way too much” and needed to “snap out of it”.
“Hyun-ah, you ate way too much. Let’s snap out of it and go on a strict diet,” she posted in early October. “You liked being skinny, right? Let’s do it again.”
Earlier this month, she sparked concern again as she revealed that she had lost 10kg in the last month and weighed only 49kg. For her height, 164cm, this is considered an unhealthy weight by the NHS.
Despite this, Hyuna suggested that she wanted to lose more weight. Alongside her post about her weight loss, she said: “It’s so hard to change the first digit from the 50s. I still have a long way to go.” Fans urged the singer to take care of her health.
This is not the first time the singer, real name Kim Hyun-ah, has struggled with her health. In 2020, she had to delay the release of her single Good Girl and later her album I’m Not Cool after developing a fainting condition caused by low blood pressure. The year before, Hyuna revealed that she had been battling depression and a panic disorder.
Fans have flocked to her comment section once again to express their concern for Hyuna. One wrote: “I want to see you healthy and happy, sis. Take good care of yourself.”
Another added: “Hyuna we love you!! Hope you are healthy.” While a third said: “Please take care!!! Don’t fight too hard to lose weight. Health and happiness is the most important thing.”
