The new trophy will be presented in the England and India Test series this summer in honor of legendary pair Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson.

In the weeks leading up to the five-match series, which kicks off at Headingley on June 20th, the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy will be revealed.

Tendulkar, an outstanding Indian star, has 15 921 runs in Test history. The 52-year-played 200 Tests between 1989 and 2013.

With 704 wickets, Anderson is England’s all-time best wicket-taker and the most successful test paceman.

The 42-year-old has worked as England’s bowling coach since leaving international cricket last summer, and he has since signed a one-year extension to his Old Trafford contract.

Tendulkar and Anderson faced off in 14 Tests. Tendulkar was bowled by no other bowler for nine consecutive games by Anderson.

The pair’s choice is in line with the Crowe-Thorpe Trophy, which was given its name after Graham Thorpe of England and Martin Crowe of New Zealand. The Test series was won by England with a score of 2-1 during England’s first appearance on New Zealand last year.

The Pataudi Trophy, which is named in honor of the Pataudi family, had previously been played as a test series between England and India in the UK.

In the 1930s and 1940s, the son of the Nawab of Pataudi, who was one of India’s greatest captains, played for both England and India. The Pataudi family has been informed that the trophy was changed.

Due to a Covid scare, England are the current and final holders of the Pataudi Trophy, having stayed with a 2-2 draw in a series that spanned 2021 and 2022.

The Anthony de Mello Trophy, named in honor of the former Indian cricket administrator, is played in test matches between the two nations. The De Mello Trophy will no longer be contested, but the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy will. Following a 4-1 series win last year, India now holds the De Mello Trophy.
