Due to an “adverse analytical finding” in a drug test, Dom Taylor will no longer compete in the PDC World Championship. He has been suspended from darts.

Jonny Clayton will now get a bye through to the last 32 of the first two matches against Englishman Taylor, who defeated Oskar Lukasiak in the first round at Alexandra Palace.

According to the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA), Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and the DRA are conducting testing during the World Championship in accordance with “ongoing anti-doping procedures.”

The DRA added that, according to a statement, “the DRA was informed on December 19 that a player’s performance from a test on December 14th was affected by an adverse analytical finding.”

“Dom Taylor has been immediately prohibited from participating in any DRA-regulated events as a result of this and in accordance with relevant DRA processes.”

According to the applicable DRA anti-doping regulations, this incident will now be the subject of a disciplinary procedure.

The DRA won’t comment on this matter until after the results of this confidential process are final.

The PDC stated that it would not comment further, besides confirmating that Clayton would advance to the third round.

At the start of the tournament, Taylor, 27, was in the top 65 nations.

After failing a drug test the previous year, he was given a one-month suspension in January.
