Tatiana Schlossber, John F. Kennedy’s granddaughter, made a heartbreaking statement about her daughter just days before she passed away at the age of 35.

Tatiana Schlossberg revealed she couldn’t feed, bathe or change her newborn daughter for one heartbreaking reason. The granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy shared a heartbreaking message about her son and daughter before her tragic death at the age of 35. Tatiana confirmed she had been diagnosed with blood cancer in May 2024.

Following routine blood tests following the birth of her second child, doctors only learned that Tatiana had been suffering from acute myeloid leukemia. She revealed that after giving birth to her daughter, she was discovered by doctors while she was recovering in the hospital. She and her husband George Moran, who wed in 2017, also have a son.

And it delivered a heartfelt message about her illness and children, which now has even greater significance. Months prior to her passing, she said, “My son is aware that I write about our planet and that I am a writer.” Since I’ve been ill, I frequently remind him to remind him that he is aware that I wasn’t just a sick person.

She continued, “I didn’t ever really get to take care of my daughter because of the risk of infection that came with my transplants,” in an op-editorial piece for The New Yorker.

“It was nearly the end of her first year of life,” she said. She doesn’t know who she really thinks I am, and whether she will remember that she is my mother when she leaves.

Tatiana’s death was confirmed on Tuesday in a statement shared on the JFK Library Foundation’s Instagram account. Her family said in the post: “Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts.

“George, Edwin, Caroline, Jack, Rose, and Rory,” pronounced “Josephine Moran.” Tatiana stated at the time of sharing her diagnosis, “I could not possibly believe that they were talking about me.” She added that a bone-marrow transplant and chemotherapy were required.

Following her death, tributes were shared on social media. One user on Twitter/X wrote: “RIP Tatiana Schlossberg, daughter of Caroline Kennedy, who passed away earlier today, from cancer. May she rest in peace..”

Another described it as “a devastating loss. Tatiana Schlossberg had a purposeful, wise, and courageous life. In her honest essay, she explains how to love ferociously in the face of death. My condolences to her family. May her grace, work, and words endure.

Bone marrow and blood are both affected by Tatiana’s cancer. Because of its rare nature, only four in ten thousand people are diagnosed annually.

Tatiana had previously published an essay in the New Yorker titled Battle With My Blood in which she revealed that she had received all standard treatments prior to her passing.
