Syrian president calls for global support amid Israeli attacks

In response to Israeli attacks as the country recovers from decades of Assad family rule, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa appealed to the world to “stand beside us.” Al-Sharaa is the first leader from Syria to address the UN General Assembly in almost 60 years.
