Following the performer’s passing in July, Noel Fitzpatrick made an open statement about the heartbreaking connection he has to a song by Ozzy Osbourne. He called the song one of his “heroes.”

Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick has shared his heartbreak over the loss of a beloved music icon, saying he “cried and cried” following the tragic news. The renowned vet expressed his deep sorrow over the recent passing of metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, also known as the Prince of Darkness.

Noel, a self-confessed fan of Ozzy, revealed a touching connection to one of the late singer’s popular songs. Ozzy, who sadly passed away in July aged 76, was part of the band Black Sabbath and performed the track Paranoid, which holds a significant place in Noel’s heart.

Describing Ozzy as one of his “heroes”, Noel explained that the song Paranoid resonated deeply with him due to personal experiences from his childhood when he was told he “was paranoid.”

In his conversation with The Times, Noel said: “When Ozzy Osbourne passed, I cried and cried. I was distraught. Paranoid was a really important song for me when I was a kid because when I reported those things that had happened (Fitzpatrick was abused as a child), I was told I was paranoid.”

He continued, “It is truly blessed that I had the chance to thank one of my heroes for the light that his songs have spread throughout my life.” “

Ozzy’s death came less than three weeks after his farewell gig on July 5, titled Back to the Beginning, which he performed in his hometown of Birmingham alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates.

His family wrote in a statement that “we are saddened by the passing of our beloved Ozzy Osbourne this morning. He was surrounded by love and his family. “

Ozzy, who also carved out a hugely successful solo career, struggled with numerous health problems throughout the years, including Parkinson’s disease.

He was unable to stand or walk alone as a result of this devastating condition. Ozzy, a well-known hellraiser, also fought drug and alcohol addiction.

Noel revealed in March how his relationship collapsed, his beloved border terrier, Keira, and his mother’s terminal illness led to his “rock bottom” in the aftermath of his death.

Noel, a veterinary surgeon who works as director and managing clinician at Fitzpatrick Referrals, was struck by tragedy when Keira was hit by a van outside his Surrey practice.

Noel chose to treat her as she lay dying in his arms after suffering severe injuries. She tragically passed away in September 2021.

Speaking on the High Performance podcast, he said: “Keira, the dog who was the love of my life, had a very bad accident and she was dying in my arms and I had to either fix her or let her go.
