Nigeria’s rise from 38th place was a result of the team’s outstanding AFCON (African Cup of Nations) campaign in Morocco in 2025.
After defeating Egypt’s Pharaohs last Saturday, the Super Eagles came in third place.
A coordinated and collaborative campaign was carried out by the Eric Chelle side, which was widely regarded as excellent.
Following a penalty shootout defeat to hosts Morocco in the semi-final, Nigeria only lost one of their seven matches.
