After a corridor of one block of two classrooms collapsed at Government Girls Science and Technical College Potiskum in Yobe State, one student was confirmed dead, and four others suffered varying injuries.
The students were about to take their lunch break when the incident occurred on Thursday around 12 noon.
While giving reporters a briefing on the incident, Bukar Aji, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, stated that the GGSTC Potiskum’s SSII students are receiving care at Specialist Hospital in Potiskum.

He added that he had been contacted by the State Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to look into the incident’s root causes and provide a report.
