After her surprise breakup with a Celebrity Big Brother star was exposed, Alexis Warr is ready to win over the Strictly Come Dancing fans and judges.
Strictly Come Dancing fans are looking forward to a new professional dancer gracing their screens – and it can now be revealed she has a surprise link to a Celebrity Big Brother star. Alexis Warr was announced as one of the two new dancers for this year’s edition of the BBC contest.
And viewers may have seen her on screen before after she took part in a video with JoJo Siwa. The dancer took to Instagram last year to upload images of herself alongside the former Dance Moms star.
She danced in water while wearing devil-like clothing as she filmed the scenes. She then followed with a post featuring “Fav bts moments from” Karma” and continued on.
In the video, Alexis and JoJo laugh hysterically while wearing all-white outfits alongside one another. The pair were also seen hugging on one of the reels, and the other one revealed the recording’s humorous side.
The duo was filming a scene in front of a green screen in the final upload from April of last year.
Alexis has shared the experience so far on her Instagram Stories since her Strictly announcement. She has also shared excerpts from other cast members, including Nadiya Bychkova, who greeted her with a “joy” as she welcomed her to the team.
Alexis joins the BBC show from the US. She made history in 2022 after becoming the first female ballroom and Latin dancer to win So You Think You Can Dance. The accolade earned the title of America’s favourite dancer.
Alexis stated after joining Strictly: “I’ve been a fan of Strictly for a long time; it’s an honor to be a part of this incredible family. I’m eager to enter the ballroom, give my heart to every moment, and show the UK how much I love dancing.
Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, and Katya Jones are just a few of the current professional dancers that Alexis and Julian Caillon have added.
Johannes Radebe, Aljaz Skorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas, and Vito Coppola will also be a part of the new series, which will once again be hosted by current MBE recipients, Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly.
Executive producer at BBC Studios Sarah James announced their arrivals, saying: “We’ve been a big fan of Alexis and Julian for a while and it’s with great excitement that we now welcome them both to the Strictly family.
We are confident that getting to know them both will be a pleasure to watch because they are two incredible dancers with bright futures ahead of them.
Alexis and Julian are the perfect additions to Strictly, according to Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s head of entertainment, and we’re looking forward to seeing them light up the ballroom in the fall.
The new series is expected to be bigger, better, and even more glitter-packed than ever before thanks to our excellent professional dancers and everything else we love about Strictly.
