John Whaite, the star of the Great British Bake Off and Strictly and Openly, has openly revealed he had been secretly having a drug addiction for five years.

Strictly star John Whaite broke down in tears as he admitted to a secret addiction to steroids. The former Great British Bake Off contestant, 36, wiped away the tears as he confessed to wanting to “end his life” as the problem gripped.

Taking to Instagram, the star shared a candid post in which he opened up on the issue. He explained how he first began taking steroids during lockdown.

John claimed that after examining himself in the mirror and not liking what it revealed, he started taking them. He acknowledged that he has been “disrespecting his body” ever since that time.

John acknowledged the severe side effects the drug had on him in the upload. He asserted, “Steroid addiction is real. I’ve let myself down for the past five years.

I put my body and mind before my own well-being and my family, and I haven’t respected either of my physical or mental health. I want to end my life because of steroids. Today, that ends. “As of right now. “

He continued, saying that he now “chooses life” and “wants a simpler life.” John continued, “I started taking them during lockdown because I looked in the mirror and hated what I saw.”

I tried dieting and exercising, but nothing helped, and I was unable to gain muscle. Looking back, I could see that I had a normal body.

I felt good about myself the more people acknowledged how I looked while using steroids. However, steroids do not work to reduce my b*******.

“I’ve got tiny balls now, and I have an irregular sex drive,” the woman says. “Sometimes it’s very high and I end up doing stupid things and disrespecting my body.”

Following a surge of support from followers, friends, and family, John wrote a follow-up message to thank everyone who had voted in. And he acknowledged that there will be updates in the future, but that now “is the time for recovery – nothing more.”

He continued, “I’m putting my hormones and health first, and I’ll talk about it more when the time comes, and in a way that feels most respectful to the subject matter and to myself.”

Among those who had reached out in the comments section of his video was hair and makeup artist for ITV, Scott Beswick. He simply shared clapping hand emojis and a love heart. Singer Olly Alexander was also among those liking the post.

John, who had appeared on OnlyFans, revealed earlier this year he was quitting the platform. In September, he said he now feels a “true sense of purpose” for the first time in more than a decade.

In a social media post at the time, John claimed that his brownie brand Ruff Puff Brownies and his baked goods store Ruff Puff Bakehouse have both “neglected” him.
