A former Strictly Come Dancing star broke down in tears as he revealed that he attempted suicide after being the witness to a murder when he was a teenager.
Tyler West, who competed on Strictly in 2022, spoke about how seeing the violent attack left him with “PTSD that I just couldn’t get rid of” on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast. The 29 year old shared that what he saw still affects him and drove him to attempt suicide at one point in his life.
“I can’t talk about it, and that’s probably the worst decision I’ve ever made, like not talking about it,” was my response to it all. Tyler spoke in a sentimental manner. Let’s sweep it under the carpet until it was unavoidable because it had accumulated a lot, as it seemed like it was just.

“And then it all came out at once in a number of different ways, making it so difficult for me to try to kill myself,” she said. Really challenging work was done. He continued, “He claimed that he had walked and ended up on top of a bridge.”
“I can’t recall how long I spent crossing this bridge. I have no idea. My phone had died. Everything . I had no idea what I was going to do when it must have been about half-four or five in the morning.
“But I was so depressed and thought, “I can’t stop thinking about this.” I simply need to unwind for a moment. One vehicle passed just past the right, exactly? The vehicle also sounded. I said, “You’re not going to do this,” and I was right. You can’t, I told you. I thought, “No way, can you please? ” I returned home. I slept in my bed, I awoke, and I just carried on with my day.
Tyler also discussed what transpired when he was 14 years old. He claims that he witnessed a confrontation between two “local alcoholics” from his bedroom window, and that one man grabbed a knife and slashed the other’s neck.
The man continued to slash and stabbing while his mother called the police, according to his mother. As two more men had left an apartment, Tyler recalls feeling “frozen” in place before preventing his mother, a nurse, from helping the victim.
Tyler struggled with a poor mental health after the murder. He explained that he couldn’t watch knife-related scenes in movies with a fork and a knife. He said, “My partner Molly hides my eyes even to this day.” In the same way, he was unable to be in a setting where he was persuaded that someone was about to pass away.
Tyler continued to claim that talking about his experiences has become his “biggest strength” after years of bottling everything up. He said to Paul, “I see all of these things, and I think about those times because they help me get there today, like they help me advance.” They are actually what makes me strongest. And talking about things is where I find my greatest strength.
