Gorka Marquez, the star of Strictly Come Dancing, made a significant announcement after previously revealing he wouldn’t be paired with a famous person for this year’s series.

Strictly Come Dancing fans will be delighted to hear they’ll get to see Gorka Marquez perform on stage, albeit not on this year’s BBC series. The professional dancer was signed back up for the BBC One dance contest this year and was seen during the opening number of the first live show of the 2025 series.

Gorka, however, made it clear in August that he wouldn’t be competing with a famous person for the foreseeable future because he would be taking on another role on Saturday nights. He made it known that he would serve on the show’s Spanish version’s panel.

Fans in the UK won’t need to be so upset because Gorka will be performing on Strictly: The Professionals UK Tour in 2019.

Gorka previously confirmed he wouldn’t be paired with a celebrity on this year’s series, telling fans on Instagram: “I am happy to announce that I will be back for season two of BAILANDO CON LAS ESTRELLAS as a judge from September.

Due to the filming dates, I won’t be competing with a partner in Strictly this year, but I will be a part of many group numbers and will be back for the show’s final weeks to support the rest of my fellow pros and their famous faces in what will be an AMAZING SERIES.
