Fans of Stranger Things just discovered a special Easter egg in the show’s teaser, which surprised them as the first episodes of the fifth and final season of Netflix were just released.
Fans of Stranger Things are perplexed after finding a small Easter egg that has them clamoring to binge-watch the fifth season of the Netflix series.
Netflix released a missing person poster with Eleven, who was named Jane Hopper, as well as a phone number that urged people to call the fictional Hawkins Police Department if they knew anything about her disappearance that occurred at the end of season four in order to gain some attention for the upcoming fifth season.
A large image of Eleven, named Jane Hopper, was prominent on the poster, which further stated that a reward of $3000 (£2, 267) will be given to all leads that lead to “Janes Hopper or her body,” who was last seen on the pavement near Hawkins High School. The page’s bottom also had a phone number for users to call.
Fans have only recently rediscovered this Easter egg as the first episodes of the Netflix series have been released, as many were curious what would happen to Eleven.
One man named Albert took to Twitter to ask the user for help calling the number on the poster because he’d heard from other fans that a special surprise would be coming up next to the line.
“Netflix just dropped a missing poster for Eleven, or Jane Hopper, as we know her.” And they included a phone number, which I’ve heard they do, which is what he said at the beginning of the video, “I’ve heard that if you call the phone number, you get a special voice message,” he said.
He continued to show his phone’s screen, where he had already entered the phone number from the advertisement he was about to call.
A terrifying in-world voicemail message from the fictional Hawkins Police Department appears after you press the call button. “Thank you for reaching the Hawkins Police Department,” it was reverberated. Hawkins is currently locked down to protect our residents as a result of the recent 7.4 magnitude earthquake.
“Jane Hopper is a priority for the Hawkins emergency task force, which is working closely with the Hawkins police department to find missing persons.” We ask that you assist us in finding her as a responsible Hawkins.
The shaky ’80s line then abruptly disappears, causing a sense of urgency. The moment is related to Season 4, which ended disastrously for Hawkins and Eleven.
As he was curious what his viewers thought of the interactive detail, Albert said, “Yo, that was cool.”
One user said, “BRO I GOT SCARED WHEN I CALLED,” while another said, “BRO I GOT SO SCARED WHEN IT SAID POLICE DEPARTMENT.”
