Ian H Watkins, a Steps’ employee, criticizes JK Rowling for calling the LGBTQI+ community “under attack.” A children’s book that teaches people about the LGBTQI+ community has been released by Ian as a break from the music industry.

Ian has reflected on his own experiences growing up in the Rhondda Valley in Wales in the ’80s and ’90s and has said that despite the world now being more progressive, the community is still “under attack”.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling has very vocal on the subject of trans people over the years. Following the Supreme Court’s judgement in April, she has referred to transgender women as “men”.

There are a few, according to Ian, who are in the minority, and a few very powerful people making decisions with which the majority disagree. Therefore, this book serves as a big middle finger for the b***ts.

Stephen Fry has also also criticised LGBT charity Stonewall as he called it “nonsensical” and “stuck in a terrible, terrible, quagmire” when it comes to trans issues. In December he said: “I am not sure I support them.”

Ian said, “There are actual people involved in this situation. They are, in my opinion, engaging in political chess. The point is to be kind, though, in the end.

We all go through struggles every day, and you never know what someone is going through. So be kind, life is difficult enough, and let it go. Why does the person I choose to love influence how you feel? Why would you feel sleepless at night as a result? No. You make me feel bad.

In Ian’s new book, Pride and the Rainbow Warriors, readers are taught about the LGBTQ+ community by the Rainbow Warriors. In terms of the book, Ian described it as a “love letter” to himself.

He claimed that because he was forced to fall, he wishes he had the book when he was a child. “very different.” He stated that he and his children didn’t have the same experiences as his children because they were bullied and spent a lot of time outside of school.
