The adored British pop group Steps has come a long way since splitting over 20 years ago, moving from being famous to working as a teacher and appearing on reality TV.
Steps, a British pop group, rose to fame in the 1990s with Tragedy, Chain Reaction, and 5, 6, 7, 8, respectively. However, a lot has changed since the beloved band split in 2001, with many seeking new beginnings away from the spotlight and others experiencing heartache.
Just this week, it was reported that singer Faye Tozer had recently left the South Tyneside home with her husband, Michael Smith, and their teenage son. After Michael, 43, posted a heartbreaking message on social media last year, people started talking about the state of her 16-year marriage.

Faye, 48, is best known for being Steps’ one-fifth member of the 1990s pop group along with fellow artists Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, and Ian “H” Watkins. What are they up to these days, though, having sold more than 20 million records together and reunited three times over the years?
Faye Tozer
Faye made a name for herself in musical theater with roles in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Me and My Girl, and Tell Me on a Sunday. She also appeared on Celebrity Chase.
Although her marriage is currently going through a rough patch, Faye has previously described her husband Michael as “the best thing ever happened to me,” but it seems like the two former lovers have a renewed romance. Benjamin is a son of the pair, and they have a son.
In 2018, she was a finalist on Strictly Come Dancing, dancing alongside Giovanni Pernice. The connection between the pair sparked a flurry of speculation but was dismissed by Faye and her husband.
Later, Faye herself made the claim that Strictly had spiced up home activities, saying: “It’s really exciting now. My husband was unable to attend the live performance the first week, but when I returned, he was in awe of me. Simply put, that is it.
Before getting married to Danish drummer Jesper Irn, Faye and Michael had previously been married. After dating for almost ten years, the pair got married in 2002.
Lee Latchford-Evans
Lee has made a name for himself on stage since Steps first quit and won the West End’s Grease competition. He founded The 5, 6, 7, 8 Method, a workout based on the group’s hits, at age 49. He is also a qualified personal trainer.
He and Kerry-Lucy, an actress and dancer, have a 2-year-old son named Leo, and they have been married for 12 years. Following the birth, Lee declared, “We’ve been waiting for a baby for a long time.
Lisa Scott-Lee
Lisa, now 48, runs a performing arts school in Dubai. She and husband Johnny Shentall, who was formerly from Hear ‘Say, have two teenage children named Jaden and Lily.
Being the principal of the school is her day job, she explained, “Steps has been my life for the last 24 years.” “I’m currently primarily employed at work, but I occasionally teach the kids to sing and dance.” I’m very pleased to be able to apologise to my students.
Lisa has also dabbled in solo music and reality TV, starring in Totally Scott-Lee, Dancing On Ice, and CelebAir.
Claire Richards
After the band ended, Claire and H teamed up to form H &, Claire, and Charlie and Daisy are now raising their own children with husband Reece Hill, who was Steps’ former publicist before moving on.
Claire, 46, later reappeared on Celebrity Big Brother and as a guest on Loose Women. She has since released her second solo album, Euphoria.
Ian “H” Watkins
H, who was well-known for his high energy, appeared in numerous pantos and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat after Steps.
He and ex-partner Craig Ryder share twin boys Macsen and Cybi Ryder-Watkins. He and his skating partner Matt Evers became the first same-sex duo to appear on Dancing On Ice in 2020 and break records. They completed week five.
